1. KANGKAR PUNZUM
At a height of 7570 m, Kangkar punzum is ranked as the world's 40 highest peak , and the highest mountain yet to be climbed .
All climbing in Bhutan has been outlawed since 2003 , reportedly for religious reasons , so it is likely to remain unclimbed for year to come.
2 . KARJIANG ,TIBET
Standing at a height of 7,221 m, the peak sits near the Bhutan -Chine border . The last serious attempt to ascend the mountain was undertaken in 2021 by a Dutch expedition.
3 . MUCHU CHHISH , PAKISTAN
The mountain is situated in the western karakorarm on the Batura Wall- a massive ridge of 7,000 m peak above one of the world's largest non-polar glaciers .
The most recent attempt of climb it was a three -person UK expedition in August 2014, where the climbers called it quits around the 6,000 m mark .
4 . KAILASH , TIBET
The peak , standing at over 6,700 m is considered to be sacred by four religious : BUDDHISM , HUNDUISM , JAINISM , BON. It is speculated to be reason for the ban on climbing the mountain , which was imposed in 2001.
Every year , pilgrims enter Tibet for pilgrimage although very few manage to finish circumambulating the peak.
5 . MOUNT SIPLE , ANTARCTIKA
Located in siple Island ,the peak is potentially active Antarctic shield volcano , rising to 3110 metres .
While much shorter in height than other , it is believed the remoteness of Siple Island of Antarctica makes Mount simple one of the hardest to climb.
